Travel baseball hidden fees checklist

Most “hidden” fees are not concealed; they are simply on a different page, in a different email, or not published yet. Use this checklist on each offer you hold. Fill in the amount if it is written down, mark it as included if the document says so, and otherwise write unknown — never $0.

Two examples of how totals go wrong

Double counting: in the 2026 Minneapolis Millers schedule, $60 tryout + $750 season = $810, because the $200 commitment was already inside the $750. Adding it again gives $1,010.

Counting a conditional amount as fixed: in the 2026 Chaska Hawks PDF, $45 tryout + $650 season = $695, while a $450 volunteer holdback with a $1 initial charge belonged in a separate conditional row. Whether it becomes a real cost depends on completing the obligation and on the team’s settlement policy.

Then price your family’s season, not the brochure

Add the confirmed rows, list the conditional rows with their triggers, and send the unknown rows to the team as written questions. Only after that is it meaningful to compare two totals — and only if both options are genuinely available for your child’s age, season, and eligibility.

Want this done on your two actual offers?

Before the Roster compares two real travel baseball offers or program documents for a one-time $59. You get confirmed, conditional, and unknown costs separated, source references for every figure, schedule and deposit conditions, and the questions still worth asking. One revision is included, and the 48-hour target starts once payment and both teams’ documents are complete. We do not rank coaching quality, scout players, or predict playing time.

If we cannot deliver the agreed review from your materials, we refund the review fee. See Terms and Privacy.
